Honda Makes Space for the new Passport
The SUV family is growing for Honda. Early this year, Honda introduced the new Passport, a baby between the CRV and the Pilot, if you will. What do you need to know about Honda’s new vehicle? All the safety features are standard for all trim levels, to make sure your family is safe while going on adventures. Honda Sensing® will be available to help you drive smoother, being adventurous while maintaining a safe environment inside the car. Keeping you inside the lane (Lane Keeping Assist System), holding the brakes when you are distracted (Collision Mitigation Braking System) and going above and behind to protect you and your family.
But let’s talk about some of the features that make this car different. I joked about being a baby between the CRV and the Pilot size wise, the car would fit between the two SUVs. It looks more like a Pilot – and it is bigger than the CRV – but it does not come with the third-row seat as the Pilot does. This is not only a family car, but this is also the car for an adventure! The off-road capabilities are what make this car special. With 20-inch wheels (the higher trim levels will have even bigger ones), the Passport is available in a V6 engine, 3.5L and 280 horsepower – same as the Pilot, but being smaller and lighter, the Passport will be even faster.
The Passport, like all the other SUV’s by Honda, comes with two options: all-wheel-drive (AWD) and two-wheel-drive (2WD). The AWD is a great mechanism that has all four wheels working as soon as the car senses the change in the ground, it is all computerized, you do not need to do a thing. But if you like to be in control, the Passport allows you to choose the mode of the drive: snow, mud, and sand. It will be ready for any type of adventure. The towing capacity does not disappoint: the Passport can tow up to 3,500 pounds.
Inside the cabin, you will have all the comfort and luxury, but since this is a car for adventures, our focus is on how this spacious vehicle can help you plan your trip. The back seats fold flat, keeping the same height as the trunk, that way you can put whatever you need inside the car: it is large enough to carry a mountain bike. The cargo floor is reversible, ready to adapt to your needs. One side is carpet and the other side is plastic, you can turn them whenever is convenient and it will also make cleaning easier. Even the trunk has the space for all your needs: such as first aid kits, helmets, or maybe turn it into an ice chest for the hot summer days.
The Passport is available for test drive and purchase, so stop by at Clawson Honda and you will be able to see all these features and test them on your test-drive. During your visit to the dealership, make sure to ask about Clawson’s Engine for Life Warranty. The warranty is covered for as long as you own the car. Which means that your car could last you a really long time and it will be covered to face many adventures!
